Basic composition :
- Focal Point - The area of element that draws viewer's first attention
- Scale & Hierarchy - Scale helps the communication of hierarchy by drawing attention towards and away from certain elements
- Balance the elements - The best way to balance your design is to imagine it with a weight. A smaller elements might have a lighter weight than the large object
- White space - Empty space to balance your complicated or busy part of your composition.
- The process of dividing an image into thirds with 2 horizontal lines and 3 vertical lines, with 4 intersection points.
- Its suggested to put your elements either in top or bottom of the horizontal line, and it will produce more natural image
- Composition that are line in with what's naturally pleasing to our eyes
- Creative use of negative space
- Create conversation between the subject and background
Golden Ratio :
- Is a mathematical ratio that is often found in nature, and when used will form an organic and natural looking composition pleasing our eyes
- Creating design using proportion and harmony which provides a sense of artistry
- Is good for determining your layout.

Fig 1.1 Page cutting

After i cut out my page, I cut out the elements that i want with scissor
Fig 1.3 Related elements
Next, I gather and cut out the elements that is related to my previous elements and concept. I also exchange magazines with my friends to get various different elements
Fig 1.4 Pattern and texture
I also rip out and cut out patterns from origami paper for my collage, so it wont look flat and more textured
Fig 1.5 Using magazine cover as background
After done with my elements, I choose background and base from the book cover since it has solid base and color.
Fig 1.6 Background and base
I then cut out 2 base from 2 of my magazine using cutter and cutting mat, and 1 from my unused cheap watercolor paper.
Fig 1.7 Layouts
Next, i proceed to arrange my elements in the base and decided take a picture of it.
Fig 1.8 Sticking element with tape

Collage 1 - The Details of LifeWear
Fig 2 Collage 1
This collage is showing how fashion fits into daily life, like how a simple sweater on your shoulder could make our outfit more stylish. The soft colors, cozy clothes, and peaceful street view shows that fashion can be simple, classic, and comfortable. It's not about looking perfect but about how you feel good being yourself.
Collage 2 - Good Morning New York City
Fig 2.1 Collage 2
This collage captures the busy and modern vibes of a morning life in New York City. It's about expressing yourself in a crowded busy city by standing out and staying confident.
Collage 3 - DIS/CONNECT
Fig 2.2 Collage 3
This collage talks about the modern life, where we live between two worlds : online and real life. The black and white contrast color shows us how technology connects us but somehow makes us feel lonely. Nowadays, many of us spent their time online than in real life which makes our mind active more in fake reality (online) than real life, this feeling makes us feel distance from people around us and our real life.
Collage 4 - My Standard LifeWear
Fig 2.3 Collage 4
This collage shows the confident and personal style, like what LifeWear means to you. The central bold female shows her confident and bold style showing contrast with the everyday outfits like T-shirt, classic glasses, and heels. Together with the torn texture and strong colors, it says : "My life, My rules, My power." It's about wearing what feels right for you everyday, your own way.

FEEDBACK
The collages look nice, the first collage looks very simple yet calming the color just looks good. Both third and fourth collages looks good, but third looks better because it has unique story and visual. At the end, i choose my third design as my submission.
REFLECTION
Experience - I learned how to create nice simple composition and nice visual with colors.
Observation - I realized color enhances the mood and message behind a design
Findings - I find it quite challenging at first, because I'm quite confuse on how to arrange the elements to look good and nice, but after some experimenting and trying, I finally understood it and manage to create different layouts with different vibes and concept.
