TASK 2

1. Character - Nyxa

2. Rationale

This card is about a Hacker name Nyxa, she's like a top secret agent who's getting paid by someone to get other company's data by sneaking in quietly. I'm aiming to make the visual like cyber, dark, and cool vibes.

3. Reference

I wanna make Nyxa look like a hacker who hacks in a room full of secret data, so it will have the vibes of the cyber world.

COMPOSITION

In this assignment, I decide to use rule of third for my composition. My object placement were organized by the help of rule of third grid.

PROGRESS

Next, I make various of screen behind Nyxa, some are broken, lost signals, warning signs, and numeric progress on hacking. To make it look more dramatic, I put gradient and glow effect on the red text (font: nunito) and symbols. For the lost signal & broken screen, I play with the effects on adobe illustration which is grain. Next, I also put cables with vibrant color behind the screen to create contrast for the visual later. 

Lastly, I put shading and more glow effects near the screen and Nyxa to show the reflection light that came from screen, then some touch up and I'm done with my card illustration!

6. CARD

This is the card base that I design from my own. I wanna make it looks cool and futuristic, so I used the effect of gradient to create a steel looking visual.

Then, I input my illustration and choose a gradient of dark blue for the card color.

Next, I add info of the card, title, and name in the card (font : nunito). Lastly, I adjust the color of the font and the gradient effect so it wont look to flat. Done !

TECHNIQUE APPLIED

I use some new techniques I just learn here. The new techniques is effects that we can apply to our shapes, such as texture which give us option to create object with different texture. Also outer glow, inner glow, gradient which I learn from tutorial class.

REFLECTION

What did you like the most in this assignment?

I enjoy doing the background so much since it got so many details and elements. Like the screen with different effects, This details makes my illustration story more interesting.

What can be improved based on your submission?

Based on my submission, I think I could improve more on the card design. For me the card looks too flat, maybe create a different design and color of the card would be a great improvement.
