Project 2: Website Redesign Prototype
PROJECT 2
Objective:
The objective of this assignment is to translate your website redesign proposal into a functional prototype. This prototype should visually and interactively represent the proposed changes, demonstrating your ability to apply design principles and UX strategies effectively.
Building upon your previous assignment (Website Redesign Proposal), you are now required to develop a prototype of the redesigned website. This prototype should reflect the proposed visual design and user experience improvements, providing a tangible representation of the final product.
Prototype Development:
Interactive Prototype:
Develop a clickable prototype that includes key pages and features of the redesigned website. The prototype should allow users to navigate through the site and interact with essential elements.
Tools: Use prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or any other relevant software to create the prototype.
Key Pages to Include:
Homepage: Present the main design elements, including navigation, hero section, and key content areas.
Core Content Pages: Develop prototypes for at least ONE core page (e.g., About Us, Services, Products) to showcase how the content is organized and presented.
Contact Page: Include a prototype of the contact page, demonstrating how users can interact with forms or other contact methods.
User Experience (UX)
Considerations:
Usability: Ensure the prototype reflects a user-friendly design, with clear navigation, intuitive interfaces, and accessible features.
Interactivity: Implement interactive elements (e.g., buttons, hover states, form fields) to provide a realistic user experience.
Submission:
A fully functional prototype ACCESSIBLE via a SHAREABLE link or as a DOWNLOADABLE file.
A brief write-up in your E-Portfolio of (500–800 words) outlining the key features of the prototype, any design decisions made during development, and how the prototype addresses the objectives set in the redesign proposal.

Prototype brief outlining:
For this prototype, my main goal was to make the character website feel easier to use, cleaner, and more comfortable to look at. The previous layout felt too small and had a lot of awkward empty white space. So in this redesign, I focused making the site more structured, clearer, and more natural to explore.
One of the first things I added was a "Back Button" on the character page. Before this, users I had no idea how to return to the previous screen once I clicked into a character. It made the page feel like a dead end, and people would have to rely on their browser button or navigation bar again, which is quite bad. With the Back Button, users now have a proper way to move around, and it helps them stay oriented while browsing. This decision made from wanting the page to feel more user-friendly and not confusing.
I also added hover effect on the navigation bar. Even though it’s a small detail, it makes a big difference because users can immediately know and see which parts of the site are interactive. The older version looked too stiff and static. With the hover effect, the site feels more responsive and it gives the user visual feedback when they move around their mouse through the navigation.
For the layout, I changed it a bit because the original design felt too tight and the content didn’t use the space properly. The characters and information were placed in a small area, but the rest of the screen was just empty leaving so many white space. In the new design, I made the layout wider and bigger so everything looks clearer and more comfortable to read. Now the visuals and text have better space, and the page doesn’t feel awkward or too empty anymore.
I also make sure that users have two ways to explore the page, one is that they can scroll down normally, or two, they can use the navigation bar to jump directly to a section. This gives more flexibility depending on how people prefer to browse. Some people like to scroll slowly and take their time, while others want to jump straightly to the part they need. By supporting both, the site feels more easier to use.
All the design decisions I made aren't all the same on what I made on the proposal, I changed the design a bit since my lecture said that navigation bar from side looks a bit like a old design, so I adjust it and change it into placing them on the top.
Overall, I feel this redesigned prototype solves the problems from the original version. It has a clearer flow, better navigation, and a layout that feels more balanced and modern. With the new Back Button, hover effects, improved spacing, and flexible navigation options, the website is now easier to explore and matches the goals of the redesign much better.
